Local cafe serving delicious coffee, together with seasonal & delicious food.

Pepper Cafe has been a proud, locally owned addition to the Flemington community for over 15 years.

Our cafe represents the rich history of the area in a beautiful art deco building, dubbed the ‘Girdwood Hygienic Library’ built in the early 1900’s. Rumour states that during the era of the Spanish Influenza ‘Hygienic Libraries’ became a trend, where each borrowed book was sprayed with formaldehyde upon return. Whilst it has now incorporated a modern twist it hasn’t lost any of its charm with exposed brick doorways and cosy light filled nooks to enjoy a coffee roasted by Reverence Coffee Roasters in Melbourne. Why not repeat history and get lost in a book whilst you’re here and enjoy a delicious coffee? Then purchase some beans on the way out. We also offer great catering options for any event. Our catering is fresh, seasonal and tasty!
